occupational therapy

The Shine Centre is accepting applications for Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Behaviour Support Practitioners, Therapy Assistants and Support Coordinators!

The Shine Centre welcomes team members from all stages of their careers including:

  • students who want to work as Therapy Assistants to jump start their careers,
  • new graduates who want a supportive learning environment or
  • experienced clinicians
  • experienced clinicians who want to work from home and/or supervise!

The Shine Centre wants to support you to achieve your goals – even owning your own practice!

We value work life balance. We believe in a flexible workplace and will work with you to develop a roster that suits your personal needs. We want you to be happy and fulfilled not just as a provider but as a person. Your happiness will flow over into the workplace and the team.

Students

We welcome student placements from a variety of universities. We offer shadow placements to students in the last year of their degree who want to learn about working in a private practice or working with NDIS participants. Students who are interested in more than a placement are welcome to work as Therapy Assistant.

New Graduates

Adjusting from student life to being a professional can be challenging. The first year at The Shine Centre new graduates experience a gradual increase in case load so they can have more time to prepare and learn the specific skills required to work in Paediatrics. Practitioners receive fortnightly 1:1 supervision, group supervision plus team meetings and support from other professionals. Your supervisor will work with you to outline the areas of focus and identify necessary training, so you feel proficient in your new job!

Experienced Clinicians

Each year our providers earn a study budget and study days. The budget increases so experienced clinicians can attend more advanced trainings and workshops. The Shine Centre will work with you to address your needs and career goals at this time! Experienced clinicians can become clinical team leads, mentor students and become supervisors. We understand that not all clinicians want this so it also completely okay to only see patients and be an amazing team member!

As you develop a better understanding of what you want across your career The Shine Centre will support you. Opportunities are available for team members who are interested in running their own practice to learn about management and other essential skills necessary to start their own practice.
