Relationship Development Intervention (RDI)

RDI

Relationship Development Intervention is an educational/adult training program for parents, caregivers and/or educators and children. We work together to find ways we can modify our own behaviour and communication so that the children can engage in meaningful communication, decision making, and emotional/self regulation (i.e., learning how to control his or her emotions and actions).

We do not focus on building scripts and 20 step behaviour plans in this program. Instead, we focus on creating strategies and gaining an understanding of where the child is still emerging in their development.

While we still focus on learning new concepts, we also focus on how children are using what they know in generalised/ every day settings. We want children and guides to thrive and be active participants in their everyday environments. RDI is a family based program where all members of the family can be involved in the program. It is also transferable into educational and workplace settings.
